SEVIS Fee Increase
On October 27, 2008, the US Department of Homeland Security increased the SEVIS fee from $100 to $200. The SEVIS fee, originally begun in September 2004, is a one-time fee for people who apply for an F-1 visa. This fee helps pay for the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), the system that US schools use to make I-20 forms. This US SEVIS fee is separate from any fee that your consulate or embassy may require for your visa application.
Details and instructions for the US SEVIS fee are included with every I-20 issued by the Tutorium.
