Special Spring Break Courses These Classes are open to any intermediate to advanced level non-native English speaker, age 19 or older. They are not limited to UIC students. Evening Courses Vocabulary and Grammar for Conversation Tues/Thurs 6-8pm (April 17 – May 10) This course is designed for intermediate level speakers of English.  It covers important conversation phrases and grammar structures. Includes practice with functions such as asking for advice, saying "No" politely, offering help, and making suggestions. Fee: $300 ($275 for TIE and UIC community) Pronunciation Focus: Rhythm and Stress Mon/Wed 6-8pm (April 16 – May 9) This advanced class focuses on improving rhythm, sentence stress, blending and pausing for more fluent pronunciation. Fee: $300 ($275 for TIE and UIC community) Daytime Courses Introduction to Conversation Skills Mon/Wed 2:30pm – 4:30pm (April 16 – May 9) This course is designed for beginning level speakers of English. It introduces basic listening/speaking skills with a focus on guided in-class conversation practice. Fee: $300 ($275 for TIE and UIC community) Vocabulary and Grammar for Conversation Tues/Thurs 1:00-3:00pm (April 24 – May 10) This course is designed for intermediate level speakers of English. It covers important conversation phrases and grammar structures. Includes practice with functions such as asking for advice, saying "No" politely, offering help, and making suggestions. Fee: $250 ($225 for TIE and UIC community) English Test Preparation (TOEFL & IELTS) Tues/Thurs/Fri 9:30am - 12:30pm (April 24 - May 11) Study and practice in our Scailab computer lab, three hours a day, three days a week, for a review of TOEFL and IELTS test-taking skills during this 3-week class. Textbook/CD package included in the tuition price. Fee: $600 ($575 for TIE and UIC community) Registration The registration deadline is one week before classes begin. Late registration is possible if space permits.
