Across the Divide

The City Design Center co-sponsored a two-day symposium, “Across
the Divide,” on urban planning, design, and social housing in Berlin
and Chicago. The symposium included a lecture by Dr. Hans Stimman, a Secretary
of the Federal State of Berlin, entitled “The Rebuilding of the Federal
State of Berlin: City Center and its Historic Neighborhoods,” and
opportunities for exchanges be-tween architects and planners from Berlin
and Chicago on redevelopment initiatives in their respective cities.
