Daycare Needs Assessment
1998
The Resident Management Corporation (RMC) of Wentworth Gardens, a Chicago
public housing development, requested assistance to assess the needs and
resources available to develop a child daycare program. The City Design
Center investigated the regulatory, legal, and financial requirements
for the proposed daycare center. The City Design Center further assisted
the RMC to develop, distribute, and analyze a survey to assess Wentworth
residents daycare needs and the roles the residents could play in
the development, management, and staffing of a daycare center. According
to Roberta Feldman, This information has been vital to Wentworth
RMCs ability to seek funds for the project.
