Marketing Information: Promotion Materials for
the Affordable Housing Fund
1997
The Affordable Housing Fund, a program of the UIC Neighborhoods Initiative
in partnership with the City of Chicago Department of Housing, and community
development corporations in Pilsen and the Near West Side, provides low
interest loans, grants, and other assistance to improve housing affordability
and quality in these communities. A City Design Center intern and graphic
design faculty worked closely with staff of The Resurrection Project and
the Near West Side Development Corporation to develop various materials
in both Spanish and English to promote the Affordable Housing Fund and
to use in training seminars. The intern, explains Marcia Lausen of the
School of Art and Design, was able to use his bilingual background,
along with his communication and design skills to develop clear and interesting
presentations of complex information in the program workbooks and posters.
