An MFA graduate of the University of Chicago, Marc Fischer collaborates with three others in Temporary Services, which recently participated in the exhibition Critical Mass at the Smart Museum, University of Chicago. Fischer has exhibited his solo work at the Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago; NIU Art Gallery, Chicago; and Museo Jardin Borda, Cuernavaca, Mexico. With Temporary Services he will exhibit this year at Apex Art, NY; PR '02, Puerto Rico; The Fair, Lima Peru; and next year at Mass MoCA, North Adams, MA. Paper Trails (Going Through Your Garbage) is part of the fall project At the Edge: Innovative Art in Chicago, August 27 - December 21, 2002 Six one-person or artist curated exhibitions taking a risk. At the Edge unveils newly created works that are difficult to show in commercial spaces, that extend a working arts practice, and/or push the boundaries of art experimentation. This year’s program is the first of annual At the Edge exhibitions intended to encourage the most innovative aspects of Chicago art community’s current dynamism.
