Artist

Marcin Berdyszak belongs to the line of artists whose works are attached to a place: either found or created. His sculptures, installations and performances are based upon a delicate interplay of oppositions: naturalness and artificiality, truth and falsehood, reality and its reflection, hand-made and ready-made, and negative and positive. Through installations, sculptures and performances he questions perception and inadequate cognition mechanisms through his combinations of objects and scents, among other materials.

Marcin Berdyszak received a degree in painting and in sculpture from the State College of Fine Arts in Poznaniu, Poland. He is now Professor in the Academy of Fine Arts, Poznaniu, Poland. His solo exhibitions include installations in the USA, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, the UK, Lithuania, Austria and Poland.
