New York based artist Patrick Killoran will discuss the strategies he uses to explore public and private space. Working primarily in sculpture and installation, Killoran's art practice focuses on changing our perception of how we experience common objects or structures, often drawing more attention to how we see the world around us, rather than the object itself.

Killoran received his BFA in Sculpture from the Tyler School of Art in Pennsylvania and has participated in several residency programs, including the Skowhegan program (Maine) and the Jeleni Studio program (Prague). Some of his more acclaimed works includes a glass outhouse (ScuptureCenter, 2003), the Observation Deck (permanently on view at PS 1 Center for Contemporary Art, NY), and an ongoing series called Autobody, in which he photolaminates taxi cabs or other cars with an image of the driver's body.

He has had solo exhibitions at Ikon Gallery (UK), the Wadsworth Athenaeum (CT), and Oberlin College (OH), among others.   Group shows include The Paper Sculpture Show (Gallery 400, 2003), Looking for Mr. Fluxus (Art in General, NY, 2001), and the Sydney Biennale (1997).   His work will also be included in the Hyde Park Art Center exhibition INterACTION, on view from April 24 - June 11, 2005.
