Wealshire

The Wealshire is a 76,000 square foot one-story residence designed specifically for people with Alzheimer's disease. The residence is divided into seven "clusters" which each house up to 22 residents. Each cluster is considered a separate home containing a living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, and private or semi-private rooms. An outdoor courtyard is viewable from each cluster. Each cluster has an individualized color scheme throughout, designed by a professional interior decorator.

Of the seven clusters three are designed for stage 1 residents, three for stage 2 residents, and 1 is for final stage residents who require skilled nursing care (more institutional).

Core Issues in Alzheimer's Care
