Anthony M. Pagano, associate professor of managerial studies, has been awarded a Fulbright grant in Panama starting in January 2010. Pagano will teach courses in international business, logistics and supply chain management at Santa Maria La Antigua University in Panama City and will assist in the development of their curriculum in these areas. In addition, he will perform research in the pricing of transportation services for the Panama Canal Authority. “My hope is that this research will lead to a better understanding of the position of the canal in the global supply chain and the role of pricing in operating the canal,” says Pagano.
The Fulbright Scholar Program sends 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year to lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. It was established in 1945 as the United States’ flagship international educational exchange program. It is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars.
