Accounting is one of the few departments where at least four courses are offered each term with honors designation. This will make it easy for you to to satisfy the Honors College requirement each term. You will be guided by your instructor to take on interesting case studies, projects and research. All these are in the accounting area and so it will help you in the regular requirements of the course, placement, CPA exams and graduate school. You could also be an officer in a accounting student organization and receive service credit. Your accounting faculty advisor also as your Honors College faculty fellow.

  • ACTG 111 Introduction to Managerial Accounting- 3 hours
    (Prerequisite: ACTG 110 and sophomore standing. Accounting majors need a grade of C or better in ACTG 110.)

  • ACTG 315 Intermediate Financial Accounting I - 3 hours A passing grade on the departmental qualifying exam. A waiver from the exam will be granted only to students who have an average of B or higher in ACTG 110 and 111 taken at UIC.)
