Accounting is one of the few departments where at least four courses are offered each term with honors designation. This will make it easy for you to to satisfy the Honors College requirement each term. You will be guided by your instructor to take on interesting case studies, projects and research. All these are in the accounting area and so it will help you in the regular requirements of the course, placement, CPA exams and graduate school. You could also be an officer in a accounting student organization and receive service credit. Your accounting faculty advisor also as your Honors College faculty fellow.

Accounting Honors Classes for Spring 2010 term:

  • ACTG 315 Intermediate Financial Accounting I - 3 hours CRN# 17768
    A passing grade on the departmental qualifying exam. A waiver from the exam will be granted only to students who have an average of B or higher in ACTG 210 and 211 taken at UIC.)

  • ACTG 316 Intermediate Financial Accounting II - 3 hours CRN#17769
    (Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in ACTG 315).

  • ACTG 435 Auditing - 3 hours CRN# 20481 & CRN# 20489
    (Prerequisite: ACTG 316). ACTG 316 and ACTG 435 cannot be taken concurrently.

  • ACTG 445 Federal Income Tax I - 3 hours CRN# 20490 & CRN# 20491
    (Prerequisite: ACTG 315)
