Being a proctor is a great way to become more involved as a member. The clubroom (1154 University Hall) is the center of all activities and being there will keep you informed on what is happening. Commitment requires a minimum of two hours per week of your time. There will only be 10 proctors this semester. Each proctor will have a picture on the accounting club website including a short bio (hometown, expected graduation, current job/internship, etc.) which firm representatives and recruiters will be able to see. Your responsibilities include answering the phone, taking messages, accepting membership applications, posting fliers around campus, and various other tasks. - You will be recognized online where firm reps will be able to familiarize themselves with who you are.
- You will spend 2 hours per week in the office where a computer, printer, refrigerator, and microwave are all available. This is a great way to spend two hours on campus if you have a break between classes.
- We will be offering a member of the year award and the prize is a $1000.00 scholarship. Being a Proctor is a great way to show your involvement in the club and it will increase your chances to receive this amazing award!
Requirements:
- UIC Accounting Club Member
- Minimum of 2 hours per week (together or separately) between 11AM-4PM
- You MUST attend a mandatory Proctor meeting once every two weeks. This meeting will be 30 minutes long and will be on the most available date given all 10 Proctors schedules.
- You must attend and sign in during all of your scheduled office hours. If you absolutely can not attend you MUST find another Officer or Proctor to fill in for you and you must let the VP of Operations know. If you miss more than 2 office hours you WILL be replaced as a Proctor.
- You will be expected to complete various tasks and basic duties for Operations and Events.
