The Illinois CPA Society has dozens of scholarships that you may be eligible for. The CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois has raised funds from Illinois CPA Society members and their firms and organizations to support these programs because they are so dedicated to helping you - the CPA profession's future. All of the scholarship programs support students who are studying accounting, and are planning to become a CPA. Candidates must demonstrate a course of study which reflects a goal to sit for the CPA exam in Illinois. www.icpas.org

Robert Half International/Accountemps and the AICPA scholarship to two AICPA student affiliate members. Student also must be an undergraduate or graduate pursuing studies in accounting, finance or IDS. The amount of the scholarship is $2,500 for one year. Scholarships of $1,500 each to full-time students and $800 each for part-time students are available to women students intending to pursue a career in accounting. They must be currently enrolled in an accredited four-year degree-granting college, have completed at least 60 semester hours of college work before applying. http://www.aswachicago.org
FEI will award about $12,000 in scholarships to an accounting and finance student at each of 14 Illinois colleges. UIC faculty will select one finalist who will be interviewed by FEI before final awards are made. All finalists are guaranteed some monetary award.

Accounting, taxation and financial planning affect the lives of every individual. Society must be assured of an adequate number of qualified and competent accounting and tax professionals. In an effort to overcome the increasing costs of higher education facing many aspiring accountants, the National Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation assists dedicated students who are committed to a career in accounting with financial assistance to support their education. Fifteen $1000 scholarships for the 2003-2004 academic year to full-time undergraduate or graduate accounting students will be awarded on the basis of a overall academic achievement demonstrated by notarized transcripts; three letters of recommendation, including at least one from a Certified Fraud Examiner or a local Association chapter, plus additional recommendations from faculty members or academic advisers; and an original essay of at least 250 words explaining why the applicant deserves the scholarship, and how fraud awareness will affect his or her professional career development. This scholarship program provides awards of up to $5,000 to outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. These awards are funded by the AICPA Foundation from monies contributed by the AICPA, its members, public accounting firms, and others. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund was founded in 1975 to help Hispanic-American college students complete their education. The scholarships are available on a competitive basis for community college, four-year college, and graduate students of Hispanic heritage. Awards generally range from $1000 to $3,000.
