CBA Hosting Alumni and Friends Event in San Francisco

On April 26, CBA Dean Stefanie Lenway will host a reception for UIC alumni and friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cellar360 in San Francisco, California. During the reception, attendees will have the opportunity to network with others who share similar interests in entrepreneurship, venture capital, technology (especially biotechnology) and business. Dean Lenway and Professor Rod Shrader will provide a brief presentation about UIC's highly successful Technology Ventures Program. In addition, HeartSounds, Inc., a team comprised of Liautaud MBA students, will give an "elevator pitch" overview of their biotechnology startup.

The reception is scheduled to coincide with the University of San Francisco International Business Plan Competition, in which the HeartSounds team will compete. UIC won this highly prestigious contest in 2006 and 2007.
