Professor Bob Chirinko's research on the effects of financial markets on business investment, "Fundamentals, Misvaluation, and Investment: The Real Story", was presented at a seminar at the University of Paris (Pantheon/Sorbonne). A presentation entitled "Tax Competition among U.S. States: Racing to the Bottom or Riding on a Seesaw?" was given at the 8th Edition of the Journées d'Économie Publique Louis-André Gérard-Varet organized by the University of the Mediterranean at Marseille, and "Can Lower Tax Rates Be Bought?: Business Rent-Seeking and Tax Competition among U.S. States" was presented at the Marseille conference, as well as at the III Workshop on Fiscal Federalism, Financing Sub-Central Government organized by the Institut d'Economia de Barcelona at the University of Barcelona.
