Prospective Students

Undergraduate Program

In order to complete the requirements for the major, it is highly recommended that finance students pass Finance 300 with a grade of C or better by the second semester of their sophomore year.

Requirements:

    Required Courses (6 hours):

    • Finance 310: Investments (3 hours)
    • Finance 320: Managerial Finance (3 hours)

    Any 300 or 400 level courses in the Department of Finance (12 hours):

    • Students may use the 12 hours toward any 300 or 400 level courses in the department of finance.

    Advanced Quantitative Skills (3 hours):

    • Economics 346: Econometrics (3 hours)
      or
    • IDS 372: Business Statistics II (3 hours)

    Business Electives (9 hours):

    • Students may use the nine hours of business electives toward any 300 or 400 level courses from the College of Business Administration.

Graduate Program

The department of finance contributes to the Liautaud MBA program by offering a concentration in finance.

Requirements:

  • Finance 510: Investments
  • Finance 520: Corporate Finance
  • One other 500 level finance course
