Fall 2007 Seminars

International Center for Futures and Derivatives Seminar Series The International Center for Futures and Derivatives, in conjunction with the University of Chicago, has developed an innovative seminar series designed to bridge the academic and financial business communities. The series will offer discussions of important topics that focus on the concept of "where theory meets practice." Each event will take place in the Member's Lounge of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, which is located at 400 South LaSalle Street. The seminars will begin at 3:30 p.m., and will be followed by a reception at 5:00 p.m. The featured speakers in the series will include:

  • Andrew Lo (November 9, 2007)

  • Harris and Harris Group Professor at MIT
    Director of the MIT Laboratory for Financial Engineering

  • Nassim Taleb (February 8, 2008)

  • Visiting Professor of Marketing at London Business School
    Dean's Professor in the Sciences of Uncertainty at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst
    Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at the Courant Institute of New York University
    Affiliated faculty member at the Wharton Business School Financial Institutions Center
