Welcome to information and decision sciences. We are Chicago's premier academic department specializing in the management of technology. Our programs emphasize information technology, operations management, and statistics finance/actuarial sciences. Technology
IDS graduates have unlimited options for technology-centric business careers. These range from the strategic and managerial positions with unlimited potential for growth and advancement (business analyst, consultant and e-commerce specialist) to technical positions that allow maximum career flexibility (web optimization and management, network specialist, statistician and program developer).

Careers
We have launched new curricula at both the undergraduate and master’s level that organize courses around today’s primary job markets in technology. Our courses for majors require two to three core courses that focus on an intense study of the technology. Elective courses are grouped into five tracks which offer students the comprehensive knowledge and problem solving expertise required to excel in their chosen careers:
