Catalog description Impact, use and trends of information technology in healthcare. Healthcare systems technology and stakeholders. Analysis of strategic, economic, operational, ethical, privacy and security considerations.
Key topics The course will be mostly case-studies based, following a two to three weeks introduction covering the healthcare environment, its participants, the major types of systems used, and the legal, social and economical constraints imposed on this system. The balance of the course will be devoted to cases in the areas noted above in the course description and objectives.
Prerequisites for this course Graduate standing Introductory information systems course is required.
