IDS Minor - Business Statistics

Data mining, data analytics, forecasting, business intelligence analysis, and quality control have been transformed by the needs of the new business operations and the availability of sophisticated information systems. The Business Statistics minor will train students in these areas and make them more marketable.

Note: CBA majors can now take the courses listed below as part of their free electives.

Requirements for the Minor in MIS - 4 courses (12 hours)

Required Course (3 hours) - IDS 371 Business Statistics II

Elective Courses : 3 courses (9 hours) selected from the following:

IDS 460 - Survey Sampling: Theory and Methods

IDS 462 - Statistical Software for Business Applications

IDS 472 - Business Data Mining

IDS 476 - Business Forecasting using Time Series Methods

IDS 478 - Regression Analysis

Non-business students will require two Business Core courses (IDS 200 and IDS 270) or their equivalent as prerequisites to complete this minor.
