IDS Minor - Management Information Systems

Information systems are transforming business management. They have become critical to performing almost every function of business. The Management Information Systems minor, with its focus on the application of information technologies to address business issues and problems, enhances the knowledge and marketability of students in the College of Business Administration and other UIC colleges.

The Management Information Systems minor trains students for business analysis and problem solving using software, tools and systems that are widely used across business. Students develop skills in database, business process modeling and analysis, information system applications, internet technologies and e-business, and data-mining and business intelligence.

Note: CBA majors can now take the courses listed below as part of their free electives.

Requirements for the Minor in MIS - 4 courses (12 hours)

• IDS 331 - Spreadsheet analysis
