Dear students,
The Fall 2008 Waitlist is closed. We will post the Spring 09 waitlist as soon as it is available.
Thank you for your patience,
IDS department faculty and staff
If you have signed a waiting list for any IDS class, please read the information below carefully.
ASSUME YOU WILL BE ADDED TO THE CLASS THAT YOU SIGNED THE WAITING LIST FOR.
Please sign only one wait list for each course. Instructions for wait list.
For fall 2008- We will begin to add students by the first week of of classes. We cannot add you any sooner, as we have to be sure we have slots for the incoming CBA students.
In most cases, we try to add students wherever possible. We are limited by class size and we must abide by fire codes, therefore, we cannot add more students than a room can physically seat. We also try to add new sections when we feel it is warranted. Please do not sign up for more than one section of a course. We have an area on the waiting list itself for an alternate course sections.
SIGNING THE LIST DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE ADDED TO THE COURSE.
The department, when adding students, utilizes the following prioritization:
For IDS 200-371 Classes:
1-IDS students, CBA students registering for CBA core courses
2-CBA students (Letter of acceptance is valid)
3-Students in other colleges who have mandatory IDS courses
for their majors
4-All other students
For IDS 400-500 Classes:
1-IDS students who are graduating in the current semester (must have a graduation check), MS/MIS, MBA and PhD students in CBA programs
2-IDS students who are not graduating in the current semester, MBA-MIS students
3-Students in other colleges who have mandatory/elective IDS courses for their majors
4-All other students
It is up to you, the student, to register once cleared and to check your schedule. You may check your schedule using the UIC Student Access System.
For fall and spring semesters, students have two weeks after the beginning of classes to drop a course. In the summer semester, students have one week after classes start to drop a course.
If you should have any questions, you may call the IDS department at (312) 996-2676 or e-mail idsdept@uic.edu.
