Research Centers

The CBA has established unique centers for learning that foster groundbreaking research, educational programming and support networks for both our students and the local business community. These centers include:

Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies
The Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies expands awareness and knowledge of new venture opportunities, offers methods for creating and growing enterprises, and celebrates the important role entrepreneurship plays in the growth of the global economy. A valuable part of IES, the Family Business Council helps the owners and leaders of family-owned businesses and other closely held companies achieve their professional and personal goals. Another component of IES, the Illinois Small Business Development Center at UIC provides clients with the support and resources that are essential to the successful formation and sustained growth of their enterprises. The center's services include training, consulting, mentoring, and connecting businesses with entities that can help them generate contracts and secure financing.

Center for Human Resource Management
The Center for Human Resource Management is a joint venture between the University of Illinois faculty (Chicago and Champaign-Urbana campuses) and senior-level human resource management executives that is dedicated to discovering practical methods for improving the management of human resources.

Center for Supply Chain Management and Logistics
The Center for Supply Chain Management and Logistics develops cutting-edge solutions to manufacturing, transportation, and logistics management issues in an effort to reduce cost and improve efficiency. This interdisciplinary organization helps public agencies and private business partners effectively compete in today's global market.
