About Us
From its humble beginnings in 1982, the UIC Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies has developed into a leading teaching and research center for entrepreneurship. Thanks to generous support of the Coleman Foundation IES has grown into a nationally-acclaimed, top-ranked program.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our overall program, which has been recognized by a number of prestigious institutions. Some of the recent awards and honors that have been bestowed upon IES include:
- 2007 - Fortune Small Business named UIC one of the top 25 programs in the nation for undergraduates.
- 2006 - Entrepreneur magazine and the Princeton Review ranked the UIC undergraduate program ninth and the graduate program 12th in the nation.
- 2006 - Professor Gerald Hills received the 2005 John E. Hughes/U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship Award for Entrepreneurial Advocacy.
