Chicago Community Ventures houses the Chicago West Side Entrepreneurship Center in partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago's Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The center provides high growth potential companies with a broad set of business tools including matching Challenge Grants, direct consulting, access to debt financing, facilitation of equity financing, early stage valuations, assistance with SBIR/STTR grant writing and various training. The CWSEC, the first of 20 Entrepreneurship Centers statewide, is part of Governor Blagojevich's Opportunity Returns economic development initiative.
