Applicants with an undergraduate degree in accounting from an accredited institution should be able to complete the program in one year of full-time study. Those with degrees in other fields and without accounting and business preparation should be able to complete the program in two years of full-time study. (Click here for a listing of the breadth and background prerequisite requirements.) A grade of no less than a B is required on all prerequisite courses.
Applicants who have not taken all of the breadth and background prerequisite courses may be admitted on a provisional basis (i.e., with limited rather than full status) and must complete the prerequisites within their first year of enrollment to retain their status in the program. Accepting limited status is binding on the time to satisfy these requirements. If a student is accepted for admission on limited status (needing to satisfy prerequisite courses) and wishes to take the courses at another academic institution, a transcript should be sent upon completion of the course(s).
The degree can be obtained on a part-time or full-time basis and most of the courses are offered in the evening.
