PhD-MIS Student Paper Nominated for Best Conference Paper

Kirill Yurov's paper, M.T. On Strategic Issues of Competition in Healthcare Information Market: Related Diversification and Product Line Investments, has been nominated as the SMS Best Conference Paper for the Practice Implications Award at the Strategic Management Society Annual International Conference in San Diego, CA in October 2007.

The paper focuses on contingency conditions that evoke competitive strategies in the healthcare information market. In particular, challenges associated with new product development and economies of scale and scope prompted firms in this market to become serial investors and alternate between R&D and M&A strategies.
