MBA/MS ACCOUNTING JOINT DEGREE

Admission to the Joint Degree Program
Applicants must apply and be accepted to both the MBA and MS Accounting programs. It is recommended that students interested in this joint degree initiate the application process for the MS Accounting portion of the degree during their first semester of enrollment in the MBA program, but no later than their second semester of enrollment.

Current students interested in applying to a joint degree program should contact an Liautaud Graduate School of Business academic advisor by calling (312) 996-4573. New students may also apply directly to both programs as a joint degree-seeking student. Please contact the Liautaud Graduate School of Business Admissions Office at (312) 996-4573 if you are considering this option.

Degree Requirements

A minimum of 68 semester hours are required for the joint degree. Students with a non-accounting undergraduate background may be required to take background courses in accounting, management information systems, operations research, and/or business communications in addition to their MSA degree requirements. Students with an accounting undergraduate background typically do not need to take background courses; however, if you are admitted into the joint degree program, your admissions letter will confirm whether or not background courses are required. Background courses do not count as credit towards your degree.
