MBA/DOCTOR OF MEDICINE JOINT DEGREE
Admission to the Joint Degree Program
Applicants must apply and be accepted to both the MBA and MD programs. It is recommended that students interested in this joint degree initiate the application process for the MBA portion of the degree during their first semester of enrollment in the MD program, but no later than their second semester of enrollment.

Degree Requirements
Students must complete a minimum of 48 semester hours of appropriate graduate work through a combination of core and elective courses to satisfy the MBA degree requirements. Students should consult the College of Medicine for courses necessary to satisfy the MD degree requirements.

Liautaud Graduate School of Business MBA Elective Courses (24 semester hours)
Students must take at least six elective courses (24 semester hours) in the MBA program, including allowed courses in Health Policy & Administration (HPA) or Health Information Management (HIM). ACTG 506 (Financial and Managerial Accounting) is recommended as one of the elective courses. Up to eight hours of HPA and HIM courses may be used to fulfill both the MBA and MD elective requirements.
