MIS FINANCING

Federal Funding

You may be eligible for up to $20,000 per year of Federal funding whether you plan to study on a part-time or full-time basis! Regardless of your economic status you will qualify for Federal funding.

Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) helps students begin the process of determining how to pay for their program. The application is available to domestic students who are interested in pursuing a degree from an accredited institution. The funds are government loans and are made available to domestic students who are not in default of past student loans and have correctly submitted the FAFSA form. The current amount available for an MBA Program is $20,500 per year. This amount covers the full annual cost of some programs. If a student attends a program that costs more than this amount, they may then look for additional funds in the private lending market. These additional loans may be found at a traditional bank that offers student loans and includes an application and usually a credit check. UIC Federal School Code: 001776
Applications can be filed at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Graduate Assistantships

Students who enrolled for eight or more credit hours during the fall and spring semesters are eligible to apply for a graduate assistantship. These on-campus opportunities provide students with a partial tuition waiver and a stipend that varies in amount according to the time worked. Students are responsible for finding their own assistantships, just as one would find a job.

Partial Tuition Waivers and Liautaud Scholars

A limited number of partial tuition and fee waivers are available for incoming UIC Liautaud students who plan to study on a full-time basis. The waivers are usually for one semester and are based on academic merit. The LGSB programs office evaluates all applicants for these awards during the admissions process, therefore students do not need to apply separately for a waiver. You will be notified during the admissions process if you are being considered for a Liautaud scholarship and/or a partial tuition and service fee waiver.
