Concentrations
Integrating conceptual and technical knowledge with practical application, Liautaud accounting courses prepare students for careers in financial, managerial, governmental/non-profit, and international accounting, as well as auditing, information systems, taxation and business law. MBA students may pursue a concentration in accounting or a joint degree MBA/Master of Science in Accounting.
ACTG 516 - Financial Statement Analysis
Efficient capital markets as a framework for evaluating accounting theories and disclosures policies, measures of the firm's economic performance and financial position, and other contemporary issues.
ACTG 535 - Auditing Theory
Philosophy of science and ethics, research methods, experimental economics, and capital market research. Special topics in current auditing issues addressed through the case method.
ACTG 545 - Taxes and Business Policy
The role of taxes in business decisions. Emphasizes integrating taxes with other variables, including behavioral, financial and environmental. Also discusses the relationship between taxation and financial and managerial accounting.
