Why did you return to school to obtain your MBA?
After having relocated to the U.S. from India, I soon realized that in order for me to be successful in my desired career path, I had to familiarize myself with the consumer psyche and get a better understanding of the local marketplace. My MBA degree from India helped me identify my passion for consumer behavior and my MBA from UIC helped me realize my dream of being part of corporate MBA.

What were some of the opportunities that became available to you once you received your MBA from UIC?
After having completed my MBA with a dual concentration, I had plenty of career opportunities to choose from. My concentrations in marketing and entrepreneurship worked as a great selling point for my desired career path. My involvement and participation in the business case competition provided tremendous credibility to my resume and my passion for marketing.

What did UIC's MBA program offer you that you would not have received elsewhere?
The UIC Liataud MBA program at UIC offered a very unique set of students. We had a great blend of international and domestic students which brought in diverse perspectives and solutions to case studies. Also, the mix of part-time and full-time students always provided for interesting conversations and discussions on various issues.

What was your favorite aspect of the program or the school?
I enjoyed being able to network with my classmates at the social events organized by the MBAA. One of my other favorite things about UIC is its location. Chicago is one of the best cities to be in; the city offers plenty of job opportunities and also provides for a great living experience.

How would you define the Liautaud student?
A Liautaud student is a person who is dedicated and focused on making it big in the corporate world. A typical Liautaud student is modest and knows how to make the best out of any given situation.

What advice would you provide to current or incoming MBA students?
Do not be afraid to take risks. Push yourself and try to accomplish the impossible. Take advantage of the networking events and get involved in various co-curricular activities.
