Concentrations
The International Business concentration helps prepare students for careers in global business. The concentration is intentionally broad yet integrated, encompassing internationally oriented courses in finance, marketing, management, accounting, and economics such as international business operations. The coursework provides a strong foundation for understanding and managing the complexities of global trade, personnel, markets, currencies, and other critical dimensions confronting contemporary multi- and trans-national business organizations.
MGMT 557 - International Management
Management practices and problems in major nations. Legal and cultural
factors affecting managerial policies and decisions; organization planning
and manpower utilization; comparative management systems and ideologies.
MKTG 572 - International Marketing
Focuses on the firm that operates internationally from its home country. Attention is particularly directed at choosing and working with overseas distributors, promotion and pricing problems, governmental export assistance, and physical distribution matters.
MBA 591 - Study Abroad
Programs offered include Know Europe and Doing Business in Brazil. Students gain first-hand knowledge about foreign business systems and cultures. Participants study alongside the future business leaders of the host country.
