Concentrations
Real Estate concentrators learn the basic principles of real estate in economics, finance, and urban planning to gain fundamental knowledge of the operation of urban real estate markets, methods of real estate finance, and systems used to plan and regulate urban real estate development.
ECON 571 - Urban Real Estate and Land Economics
Economic analysis of urban real estate and land. Real estate appraisal, demand for urban land, supply of land and improvements.
FIN 472 - Real Estate Finance
Finance principles applied to real estate, financing of residential and income-producing real estate, real estate development finance, secondary mortgage market, taxation and real estate finance.
MBA 590 - Real Estate Development
This course offers students the opportunity to hear, question and learn from prominent Chicago real estate developers, real estate attorneys, architects, general contractors, institutional investors and building management professionals. The process of real estate development, including land acquisition, municipal approval, design, construction, financial structure and building operation, will be examined with the objective of building a successful project.
