  • CBA Students Selected Illinois Fifty for the Future

    MS in MIS students Faisal Farooqui and Arun Muthalagu, and Mindy Isherwood, an undergraduate student majoring in information and decision sciences, were recently selected by the Illinois Technology Association as three of Illinois’ Fifty for the Future in Technology. The Fifty for the Future is an annual program that recognizes top students interested in the technology industry.

    Both Professor David Koehler and Joseph DeLaGarza, director of the Center for Urban Business, were recent guests on WGN Radio's Noon Show with Bob Sirott. Professor Koehler discussed online social networks and their impact on the workplace. DeLaGarza discussed the current climate for small business in the city of Chicago and the services offered by CUB.

    Professor Carmel Chiswick's "Economics of American Judaism" examines how America's economic environment in the twentieth century provided context for the Jewish religion to adapt to new circumstances.


  • Hall of Fame Welcomes New Members; Presents Lifetime Achievement Award

    The Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame inducted 21 new members and presented a special Lifetime Achievement Award to Leonard Lavin, founder of Alberto-Culver Co., as part of the annual event hosted by the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies.

    Charlie Trotter, world-renowned chef and owner of the popular restaurant Charlie Trotter's, will be the keynote speaker for the College of Business Administration's spring commencement ceremony.


  • CBA Center Co-Sponsors International Symposium

    The International Center For Futures and Derivatives will once again be co-sponsoring the International Symposium on Financial Engineering and Risk Management. The event is scheduled to take place June 8-10 in Shanghai, China.

    Eric Meredith, executive chef and CEO of Alter EatGo, was recently featured on the local ABC News affiliate WLS-TV. Meredith is a CBA alumnus and member of the Business Alumni Association.
