The Culture of U.S. Business
This course focuses on what international business partners need to understand when doing business with people and organizations in the United States .
U.S. Values Overview topics include:
- Time
- Authority
- Individuality
- Social organization
- Nature
- Uncertainty
Cultural Overview topics include:
- How people from the United States see themselves
- How people from the United States communicate - socially and in the workplace
- How stereotypes can sometimes be misleading
Specific business topics will include:
- Basic U.S. business values
- U.S. work environment
- The relationship between business and the government in the U.S.
- U.S. leadership styles
- Negotiating styles in the U.S.
- U.S. business etiquette
- Women in U.S. business
