Thesis research may continue if the dissertation cannot be completed. During the additional terms publishing and teaching may also continue under the supervision of the student's Ph.D. committee chair.
Qualifying Examination
The qualifying examination is given at the end of each fall and spring semester and is based on the following three courses:
- STAT 401: Introduction to Probability
- STAT 411: Statistical Theory
- ECON 534: Econometrics I
Preliminary Exam
The preliminary exam is a written and oral exam. The preliminary committee will be responsible for planning the content of the examination.
Dissertation
The student is required to register for 32 hours of PhD thesis research during this period.
