Credit/No Credit Option

  To request to take a course on the Credit/No Credit option, please click on the following link: http://oar.uic.edu/uic_faculty_staff/registration/creditnocredit/   
It will require that you sign on with your netid and common password.  

1) Complete the online form and submit it by Friday, January 20, 2012. This request cannot be revoked after the dealine.
2) You will receive a response via email during the 3rd week of the semester.

Policy

  1. In order to take a course Credit/No Credit you must be:

     -A CBA student

     -Enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours

      -In good academic standing (NOT on academic probation)

  2.  Students can only take one eligible Credit/No Credit course per semester.

  3.  A maximum of 21 hours can be taken as Credit/No Credit.

  4.  Some course/instructors in other colleges onn campus restrict students from taking their courses on the the Credit/No Credit option. Check the syllabus carefully. If this is the case, the CBA cannot override this policy.

Which Courses can be taken on the Credit/No Credit Option?

  • Advanced Quantitative Skills for ACTG, ENTR, MGMT and MKTG majors ONLY!
  • Extra courses not being used towards your degree, except accounting courses
  • Analyzing the Natural World
  • Understanding the Past
  • Exploring World Cultures
  • Understanding the Individual and Society
  • Understanding U.S. Society
  • Understanding Creative Arts
  • Electives, if they are not being used towards a CBA minor, major or certificate program

Caution

  • Courses taken on the Credit/No Credit option are not considered graded hours.
  • Students must have at least 12 graded hours (course work in which you earn a final grade of A,B,C,D OR F) for the semester to be eligible for the dean's list.
  • Students must have a minimum of 60 graded hours to be eligible for College Honors at the time of graduation.
  • Students who earn a No Credit grade in a course taken on this option are not eligible for the dean's list.
