CBA Credit / No Credit Option Policy
CBA students are allowed to take up to 21 hours of general education credit on the Credit/No Credit option. Only one course per semester can be taken on this option. To be eligible to use the Credit/No Credit option, CBA students must be enrolled full-time and be in good academic standing. The request forms are available to students between the first day and the tenth day of the semester in 1118 University Hall.
Instructions
- Complete and submit a Credit/No Credit Request form by the deadline of 4:30 p.m. on the official 10th day of classes to the CBA staff in 1118 UH. This request cannot be revoked after the 10th day of classes.
- Check back during the 4th week of classes to make sure it was approved.
Rules for the Credit/No Credit Option
- In order to take a course Credit/No Credit you must be:
- A CBA student
- Enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours (6 in the Summer)
- In good academic standing (NOT on probation)
- Students can only take one eligible Credit/No Credit course per semester.
- A maximum of 21 hours can be taken as Credit/No Credit in the CBA.
Which Courses can be taken on the Credit/No Credit Option?
For students admitted prior to Fall 2007:
- Social Science
- Modern History and Philosophy
- Literature
- Natural Science
- Non-Business Electives
- Advanced Quantitative Skills for ACTG, ENTR, MGMT and MKTG majors ONLY!
- Extra courses not being used towards your degree, except accounting courses
For students following the new Fall 2007 general education requirements:
- Analyzing the Natural World
- Understanding the Past
- Exploring World Cultures
- Understanding the Individual and Society
- Understanding U.S. Society
- Understanding Creative Arts
- Electives, if they are not being used towards a CBA minor, major or certificate program
- Advanced Quantitative Skills for ACTG, ENTR, MGMT and MKTG majors ONLY!
- Extra courses not being used towards your degree, except accounting courses
Caution
- Students must have at least 12 graded hours (course work in which you earn a final grade of A, B, C, D OR F) for the semester to be eligible for the dean's list.
- Courses taken on the Credit/No Credit option are not considered graded hours.
- Students who earn a No Credit grade in a course taken on this option are not eligible for the dean's list.
