The following guidelines list the minimum requirements to be considered for admission to the CBA, which reserves the right to adjust admissions criteria based on space availability.
You are a beginning freshman if you currently attend high school or have graduated from high school and have never attended a college or university.
The College of Business Administration utilizes a holistic approach where numerous criteria are reviewed for each individual applicant. Those factors include:
Freshmen are admitted for the fall semester only. To complete your application you must submit the following to the UIC Office of Admissions by the deadline:
A transfer applicant is one who (1) has completed a minimum of 24 semester or 36 quarter hours of transferable college classroom credit by the time of application and (2) does not meet the definition of a beginning freshman or a readmission applicant.
While 24 semester or 36 quarter hours are the minimum number of hours required, admission into the College of Business
Administration is competitive. For full consideration, the following minimum criteria must be met at the time of application:
Transfer students are admitted for the fall and spring semesters only. To complete your application you must submit all checklist items to the UIC Office of Admissions by deadline.
Transfer Tools
Transfer Guides*: UIC College/Academic Program worksheets for students to review the transfer admission requirements and plan their academic coursework while attending another college or university.
* If your college/university is not listed, choose the "My School is Not Listed" link to access the All-Purpose transfer guide.
u.select: online tool that will help you view program requirements, course equivalencies, and see how courses you have taken or plan to take transfer to UIC.
itransfer.org: The Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) Web site. The IAI is a statewide agreement for participating colleges and universities in Illinois. UIC is a participating university.
Readmission applicants are former UIC students who were registered as degree-seeking undergraduates and who left the university for two or more semesters in succession (summer session excluded).
Readmission applicants are considered for readmission on the basis of their status at the time they left the university, any college work they have completed elsewhere since their last attendance at the university, and the availability of space in the chosen program. Degree-seeking readmission applicants do not pay the application fee.
Students who interrupt their UIC enrollment by two or more semesters in succession (summer session excluded) must reapply using the Transfer Student Application and follow the same deadlines.
The College of Business Administration conducts several information sessions each semester for students interested in transferring into the college from another UIC college. Click Here for more information.
You must be an official student admitted to the College of Business Administration to receive a degree from the CBA. Completion of the curriculum does not grant you automatic admission to the college, nor does it make you eligible for a business degree. You must meet the admission requirements and be officially accepted to the CBA before your business degree can be awarded by UIC.
Inter-college Transfer Guidelines:
Instructions:
Admission will be based on your current records in the UIC student information system. Missing, Not Reported or Incomplete grades will cause a delay in the processing of your application. Not Reported grades (NR) must be removed and incomplete grades (I) will be evaluated as failing grades. Grades for transfer credit listed as in-progress (IP) must be completed before you will be considered for admission to CBA.
NOTE: Inter-college admissions decisions are mailed. Processing of applications may take six to eight weeks. The process may be delayed further for a student who applies at the beginning or end of a semester.
