CORPORATE DISCOVERY PROGRAM
PURPOSE
The Corporate Discovery Program helps make the business community more accessible to our students. Exposure to life inside a real company helps students understand how to apply what they learn in the classroom to the real world. In turn, the companies receive a captive audience and an opportunity to promote their own businesses. The collaboration and unique partnership between the College of Business Administration and the Chicago area business community cannot be underestimated.
SCHEDULE
Company visits will occur during the months of September, October, November, February, March and April.
Students from each of the major CBA disciplines (accounting, economics, finance, information and decision sciences, management, entrepreneurship, and marketing) are invited to participate in visits to appropriate companies.
AGENDA
Each event will be tailored specifically to each company, with the following suggested guidelines:
- Presentations by alumni employees or others on their career paths and how they got involved in the profession and what the profession offers
- Guided tour of offices (where applicable)
- Question and answer session with company representatives
- Discussion of employment opportunities within the company
- Refreshments (optional)
The program can take place at a mutually agreed upon date for a few hours either in the morning or afternoon. Participation is limited to 10 to 15 students per visit.
TRANSPORTATION
Individual students and accompanying career center advisors will be responsible for their own transportation.
