FAQs For Actg 474 & 475

REGISTRATION

HOW CAN I GET INTO A FULL SECTION?
Monitor the course enrollment for open seats through the online registration.  There are no waiting lists or reserved seats.  Neither the professor nor the department control the online registration and therefore cannot reserve seats or control who registers in what order.  If you cannot register by the add/drop date then you must take the course in another semester.  

WHY CAN'T I GET INTO A COURSE THAT DOES NOT LOOK FULL?
There are usually multiple section numbers for a single course section, so the total enrollment is the CROSS LIST enrollment, not the section number enrollment.  If you cannot register for a course section then the combined number of students in all sections has reached its maximum and the course is indeed full.

CAN I TAKE ACTG 475 WITHOUT HAVING TAKEN ACTG 474?
Yes.  It tends to be better, though,  if you have had 474 first.  You need to be familiar with transaction cycles including the documents, special journals and subsidiary ledgers involved.  This is all covered in 474.  If you know or can review this material then you are ready for 475.
