Graduate and Honors Projects

In addition to the normal coursework graduate students will complete a project for one hour of credit in the area of AIS.  Undergraduates who choose to do their honors project in AIS will do a similar project.  Projects must be arranged with the instructor during the first two weeks of class and must be completed according to a schedule arranged with the instructor.  Projects will involve 20-25 hours of work.

Project Topics:

There are a broad range of possible topics.  You have an opportunity to focus on any aspect of AIS that interests you.  Categories of projects done in the past include:

• Web Site Creation - Building and posting a personal web site on the university server
• Mind Mapping - learning the mind mapping note taking technique and applying to our AIS course content
• Advanced Peachtree Work - learning access controls, job costing and time & billing functions in Peachtree Accounting software
• Spreadsheet Modeling - given a business case, use Excel to construct a spreadsheet model to analyze profit scenarios.
• Researching a company and writing a report about how it deploys information systems
• Researching a particular topic or product in information technology and writing a report
