3D SECTIONS
Planar and non-planar sections of 3D models can be generated by the Generate Section command.
PROCEDURE
- Determine whether the section will be output to a new design file, the active design file or other design file.
- User Utilities Generate Section File
- Tolerance sets the accuracy to which curves are approximated.
- Flatten Section creates a flat (2D) section of the 3D intersection.
- Interactive Positioning sets the section angle and scale the the active settings and allows you to move the section as soon as it is generated with the cursor.
- Assemble Segments creates complex chains or shapes out of adjacent model surfaces.
- The Symbology group box allows for setting the section symbology.
- Sections can be generated using:
- Element - a surface intersecting with the model
- Fence - the area defined by a fence block
- Plane - define by 3 points
- Projection - a line, circle, curve etc. or linestring projected through the model
- View - a plane perpendicular to the screen in horz or vert orientation or parallel at depth
