Auxillary Coordinate Systems (ACS)

Procedure:

1. Define ACS (make sure ACS Snap Lock and Depth Lock is off)

• Tools>Auxillary Coordinates
• Define by: Element, Points or View
• Rectangular (origin, x axis, y axis), Cylyndrical or Spherical

1. Display ACS Triad (optional)

• Settings>View Attributes>ACS Triad

1. Turn on ACS Plane Lock to model in the new coordinate system

• Settings>Locks>ACS Plane (or use locks icon at bottom of scrren)

1. Save Active ACS if more than one is needed (optional)

• Utilities>Auxillary Coordinates
• Name the active ACS (hit enter then click Save button)
• Name appears in Saved ACS list
• Highlight the named ACS to Attach or Delete

1. Select ACS to be Active if more than one (optional)

• Tools>Auxillary Coordinates>Select
• If there are several named ACS, their names and triad will appear in each view when selected
• Data Point the ACS Triad to be active
