RENDERING THE RADIUSED BOX
This procedure will change the default settings to produce a better looking rendering and save it as a bit mapped image. Experiment to achieve the best results.
- Make sure surfaces to be rendered are on seperate levels from wireframe elements. (see Separating Surfaces to Other Leves
- Change surface colors for rendering purposes.
- Main Change Element Attributes
- Model a ground plane for the radiused box, just below box and large enough to cast a shadow on.
- Rotate view as appropriate.
- Tools View Control Rotate View
- Zoom in on rotated view as appropriate.
- Tools View Control Window Area
- Change default rendering and lighting settings:
- Settings Rendering Global Lighting
- Turn off Flashbulb
- Turn on Solar
- Turn on Solar Shadows
- Change city to Chicago
- Change time to AM
- Tools 3D 3D View Control Render
- Target: View
- Shading Mode: Phong
- Shading Type: Normal
- Click in rotated view to render. Use small window while experimenting to save time. Use large window to see final results.
- Save to disk as a bit mapped file.
- Utilities Image Save
- View: 2 (or which ever view has your rotated view)
- Format: TIF (Compressed)
- Mode: 256 Colors
- Shading: Phong
- Shading Type: Normal
- Resolution X: 800 Y: 600
- Save... yourfile.tif into your directory
- View the saved bit mapped image.
