USING DRAWING COMPOSITION
to Display your Thumbnail Sketches
Drawing Composition is a process usually used to create a drawing sheet (border, title block etc.) with attached standard views (top, front, side etc.) of your model as reference files. However, for this assignment we are going to use this tool to compose multiple views of multiple models all from the same design file.
PROCEDURE
- Create your 8 abstract forms on 8 different levels and create a Saved View for each of them. These Saved Views will be attached to a Sheet View using Drawing Composition. (see Using Saved Views)
- Open Drawing Composition settings box.
(Menu File Drawing Composition)
- Choose Sheet View as your Sheet Location.
( Sheet Parameters Sheet Location Sheet View)
- Designate a view 1 as a sheet view.
(Menu Tools Open Sheet View)
- If necessary, set the Scale. The first field is for the Sheet scale, the second for the model scale.
(View Parameters Scale) (Sheet : Model)
- Attach the Saved Views, one at a time, and place them in in an array (4x2 matrix) on the Sheet View.
(Menu Tools Attach Saved View)
Note: An attached view can be clipped, detached, grouped, moved, or scaled by choosing the appropriate item from the Tools menu.
- Once you have the eight Saved Views atttached to the Sheet View you can render them as you would any other view. Make any adjustments to the attached views as necessary and save in COMPRESSED TIF format. (see Rendering the Radiused Box).
