The cartoon is a narrative of experiences going through the ranks
at Northwest Elementary. It highlights the most outstanding lesson
I can remember from each grade.
The style of drawing was one I used at elementary school age. I
remember spending hours-rearranging circles, squares, triangles,
and cylinders on paper. It never occurred to me to use a model.
The balloons are surrounded with the school song and the colors
are muted like an aged cibachrome photograph to give the piece a
feeling of nostalgia.
