Course Description: Processes of cellular and organismic function: cell structure, respiration, photosynthesis, molecular genetics and development, structure, and physiology of plants and animals. Animals may be used in the laboratory.

Required & Recommended Textbooks:

	Title: Biological Science, 4 ^th edition or UIC Custom Edition (available at UIC Bookstore) with Mastering Biology Author: Scott Freeman Publisher: Prentice Hall Publishing Company Note: If you have the 3 ^rd edition (the one with the octapus on the cover), it is still good. Regardless of which edition of the text you have, you MUST register for Mastering Biology 4th Edition Do NOT register for the Virtual Labs with Mastering Biology - we will not be using them

	Title: A Photographic Atlas for the Biology Laboratory Author: Van de Graaff & Crawley Publisher: Morton Publishing This book is optional, but if you plan on taking any more biology courses, I highly recommend this book. It is awesome!
