Course Description: Processes of cellular and organismic function: cell structure, respiration, photosynthesis, molecular genetics and development, structure, and physiology of plants and animals. Animals may be used in the laboratory.

Required & Recommended Textbooks:

 

  • Title: Biological Science, 4 th edition or UIC Custom Edition (available at UIC Bookstore) with Mastering Biology
  • Author: Scott Freeman
  • Publisher: Prentice Hall Publishing Company
  • Note: If you have the 3 rd edition (the one with the octapus on the cover), it is still good. Regardless of which edition of the text you have, you MUST register for Mastering Biology 4th Edition
  • Do NOT register for the Virtual Labs with Mastering Biology - we will not be using them

  • This book is optional, but if you plan on taking any more biology courses, I highly recommend this book.  It is awesome!
